The Ijāzah Track at Qaf Institute is a guided pathway for students who seek formal authorization (ijazah) in Qur’an recitation. Under the supervision of ijazah-holding teachers, you will refine tajwīd to precision, complete a khatmah in riwāyah Hafs ʿan ʿĀṣim (or other available riwāyāt), and prepare for your final ijazah sitting. Along the journey, you’ll cultivate the adab of tilāwah and the spiritual etiquette of receiving the Qur’an.

What you’ll learn

Precise makhārij and ṣifāt, with corrective feedback on every line
Full application of major tajwīd rules (nun/mīm sākinah, idghām, madd, waqf & ibtidāʾ, etc.)
Consistent, confident tilāwah with proper tarteel and rhythm
Adab al-tilāwah and the etiquette of sanad transmission
Exam preparation for the ijazah sitting (listening/examiner standards)

Structure & Format

Mode: Live 1:1 sessions (premium) or small circles (halaqāt)
Cadence: 1–3 sessions/week (30–60 min) + guided home practice
Materials: Certified mushaf plan, audio assignments, progress log
Assessments: Ongoing recitation checks + mock ijazah sittings

Entry Requirements

Solid Qur’anic reading (noorani/qaʿidah complete)
Comfortable with basic tajwīd; placement check is required

Certification

Upon successful completion of the final sitting with a qualified teacher, students may be granted ijāzah in the specified riwāyah with connected sanad (where available and at the teacher’s discretion).

Is this for memorisers only?

No. Both huffāẓ and non-huffāẓ can pursue ijazah in recitation (tilāwah).

Which riwāyāt are available?

Hafs ʿan ʿĀṣim (primary). Additional riwāyāt may be offered based on teacher availability.

How long does it take?

It varies by accuracy and pace. Many dedicated learners complete in 6–18 months.

Will I receive a certificate if I’m not yet ready for ijāzah?

Yes—Qaf issues progress certificates; ijāzah is granted only upon mastery.
